Hi everybody this is Bruce here welcome to my

clicking the Patreon link enjoy the video Hey everybody its Bruce here with
Traveling with Bruce today I’ve got a video for you from Pisa Italy if you
look at the top left corner you’re gonna see a big paved parking lot up there
that holds tour buses from cruise ships and everywhere else probably 50 tour
buses at a time into Pisa to come and see the Leaning Tower of
Pisa and here’s a Google Earth image a second one I have of that area and
you’ll see at the bottom of the screen here that’s the gate where you come in
and you have to run the gauntlet past all of these tents and souvenir sellers
and the pickpockets if they’re really watch yourself anyway once you’re in the
gate the first view you get is this one and you begin to realize oh yeah I’ve
seen this before you haven’t perhaps seen the structures
on the far left but you sure know what’s at the back of the line here people
everywhere taking photos like you wouldn’t believe
of course that’s what I did and it’s kinda neat to see the architecture and
the design of this area crawling with people they estimate a million
tourists a year visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa they broke ground on 1173
they finished it 199 years later in 1372 delays were the sinking of the
foundation the odd war or two and funding they eventually got it done is 183 feet tall
so it’s like a 19 storey building they restored it – in 1999 and 2001 most
recently to stabilize its tilt and they’ve now capped the tilt at 3.99
degrees or if you’re at the top you’re 12 feet 10 inches off-center
the engineers guesstimate that it won’t collapse anymore there’s me doing what
everybody does my dad did this in 1960 I did it
many others will it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 it’s quite an amazing thing to
see you see people here about three or four levels up you see at the bottom
here restoration work still going on leave it the Italians to figure out how
scaffolding can surround a leaning tower it’s unbelievable
all around the structure are additional tourist stalls you’ll see some of those
in the minute I I cannot believe how many there are they had to have been out
100 of them they all sell the same stuff you know the same little trinkets the
same little coffee mugs the same little t-shirts and and keychains and that type
of thing I don’t know how they make it I don’t know how they stay in business
they line this one street that it goes for probably 300 meters unbelievable but
the tourists are here at least 20 25 thousand a week I guess and in the
summer it’s higher in the winter it’s lower and you guys got to make sure you
keep your valuables in a safe place because you never know if you lose it
there’s a shot I was talking about you can see the stalls on the left hand side
going all the way down anyway it’s still a fun experience you don’t get to see a
place like this every day but you wouldn’t want to see it every day I’d
hate to work there but anyway Pisa its if you can make it part of a day trip
with a cruise for us it worked out because we did Florence and Pisa all in
one day and look at all that trinkets all those trinkets available
unbelievable anyway if this is your first time on my
channel click the like button and subscribe oh by the way there’s the
leaning tower of garbage in Pisa I had to highlight that for you to come and
