Port Vila is the capital of Vanuatu, here on the main island of Efate. The weather is sunny and tropical all year round, so there’s always plenty of things to do. Like, see it all from the air! Vanuatu Helicopters run a heap of different tours, each giving you an incredible view of the island. You also have to see the Blue Lagoon, and take a zip-line adventure! Go on a snorkelling trip! And visit the Mele Cascades, the island’s most popular natural attraction. The easiest way to see these sights and get around Efate is with Evergreen, one of Vanuatu’s top tour companies. Their huge range of half- and full-day tours make Evergreen our go-to. One of my favourite tours is their day trip to Pele Island, off the north coast of Efate, where you can relax on the beach and snorkel. Or for a unique experience, jump on a local bus! If you’re after a good lunch spot Tamanu On The Beach offers a South Pacific dining experience with ocean views. While Wild Ginger at the Warwick Le Lagon is a favourite for Asian fusion. Or try K2 Kitchen, a cafe here in Port Vila. When it comes to where to stay, there are some awesome resorts on Efate. There’s the Holiday Inn Resort, Vanuatu, or Breakas Beach Resort. The Warwick Le Lagon makes a fantastic base for its central location. It even has overwater bungalows. Or check into Iririki Island Resort. As you can see, Efate lets you do as little, or as much as you like!
