The Truth Behind our Family Vacation

The Truth Behind our Family Vacation

When are you going to call her?
You calling for baby Tabor are you coloringthe picture? [inaudible] what’s up guys? Welcome to the Wander
Family vlog. We are back from Lake Powell. Where are we going? We’re going
in the car. Going on a ride. Wow. Yeah. Um, we had, did you have
fun at Lake Powell? Lovey? Yeah. Yeah. You went swimming then
you went under the water. Oh my goodness. We had so much
fun. We were, yeah, you jumped. We were gone for probably 10 days. Um, and it was so nice to
just unplug and relax. Um, we made the one video just to, you’ve got water in your mouth. Yeah,
she got a little water, a mouth. But we made that video just so we could
remember the trip and all the good memories, but that were some other
stuff that happened on the trip. And we’re going to talk about it
in a little bit. So you ready? you were back at our house where we
have our chicken eggs, I think. Yeah. Eat some this morning. Yeah. Yeah. So we’re going to tell them the real
story behind the vacation later. The not the not perfect. So yeah, the video we put up is like the Instagram
filtered version and then we’re going to go real deep into the details
later today. But first we’re going to, you want to go and target, cause I hear all the fall
stuff’s out and mama’s been lady, let’s go look. Come on. Let’s go. Well that was a fail, wasn’t it lovey or are doing Friday? I’ll
do restaurant or I’ll do, you can do it yourself. You do what
yourself? Don’t worry tomorrow. Oh. Oh, you didn’t want to hold hands
at target. Yeah. Yeah. So target. We were trying to find some false stuff.
I thought the fall stuff would be out, but it’s still back to the same
proteins we were looking for. Pumpkin’s Huh? Yeah. Did
we find any Pumpkin’s shady shit. Oh, we didn’t find
any pumpkin. So what did we find? We found one thing. What is it? We’ve got a candle. There’s
this smell of good. Yeah. All good. Well that’s good. Yeah. There’s literally no
false stuff at Twitter. Not Trader Joe’s like you
kind of a true trips though. No fall stuff at target.
I take it a candle. Should we light it? This is
our one fall thing we got. Wow. Okay, let’s light it. Let’s
light the candle. There we go. It’s hot. We don’t touch, Huh?
But we have our focus handle. Oh so sad. So sad. But at least it
will smell like fall in our house, which I am pretty, pretty excited about. I am so excited. So excited for fall. When are you going to color? Told
you’re coloring for baby Tabor. What are you going to, are
you calling him a picture? It’s going to be so
pretty. Oh my goodness. Can’t wait for him to
be here. That’s so nice. You’re [inaudible]. Should I call
him? I’m her baby taper to block. [inaudible] full with
too. You are too. Oh, that’s such a good thing. You’re
such a good big sister. Lovey. You’re crying pictures for baby
taper. He’s going to be here soon. What do you think he’s going to
look like? I’ll go route out. I was hope. I thought Sir [inaudible] Clore pulls us
or mother, he hits Mama. Why do you mean he
kicks on my tummy? Yeah, he kicks cause he’s
getting so big in there. I wonder what he’s going
to look like though. Do you think he’s going to
have blue eyes or Brown eyes? Blue Eyes like yours. Yours. A mamas. Papa has brown eyes. You have blue eyes. Does it look close? His Mama had blue eyes or Brown. Do you
think he’s going to have, you know when you were born you
have lots of hair you think? Yeah. You would love to hair. Do you think baby [inaudible] we’ll
have lots of hair when he’s born. Yeah. When you were born,
you had had lots of parents just came back from, was
that the most wishes? Dinner. Favorite restaurant we’ve been to
so far in Boise. That was cute. My Sandwich till we went to the
wilder. If you’re in the Boise area. Oh my gosh. We got the honey badger pizza, which has like Italian sausage and spicy
honey on it and ricotta cheese is so, so good. I’ve been craving like
really good. Uh, what’s it called? Stone Fire Pizza. Whatever’s so good. Um, but you ready for the real
story about our vacation? Not Real Story. We had an, an incredible adventure vacation. We got to spend time with family and
one of the most beautiful places. It was really incredible. But
don’t let, it’s not like a, it’s not the real story. I
would say it’s the version, the more like the version with kids. Yes. So even though we had so
much fun and are so grateful, we got to go to Lake Powell and spend
time with family and make all these family memories. And juniper had
like the funniest juniper. I had like the best
time of her life. Yeah. Cause it’s really, I mean I’m just
glad she had a good time. Yeah. But it wasn’t all easy being pregnant
because well pregnant and with a toddler because first of all it was 105, which is pretty Dang hot in general. But when you’re on a boat, when there’s no shade and we had
a generator so we could run AC. But to generator you
can’t run it all the time. I think it probably was never
cooler than 80 on the boat. If that would be like the cause at night
it would get down getting pulled off at night, which was nice. Um, so it was pretty hot and then the
water was perfect temperature, but it wasn’t like cold. So even though if you were hot you could
get in the water and the water felt perfect, but it wasn’t like super cool. It wasn’t super built so it didn’t
really, really like cool you off. It was amazing. I could
stay in it all day long, which was the lifesaver basically. It
was incredible as a perfect temperature. Um, but you didn’t like jump in and
you were like cooled off for an hour. He was done like that. Um, but we are with a toddler who doesn’t
know how to swim surrounded by water. Um, so there’s going to be
some stress. Um, basically, uh, before this trip I was really re, I had like a lot of nightmares
about juniper drowning. I just have a lot of anxiety
with her around water. Don’t do this more comfortable around
water cause I do the swim classes every week, but you don’t really have that. And I knew that we were have older kids
who are more comfortable in the water, who can swim and juniper just likes
to do whatever the older kids do. So I was really afraid that she was
just gonna follow them into the water without like a life. She’s pretty smart
in the training was swim training, you know, we make it so that she won’t
go in the water without a parent. So she did pretty good there. But the,oh go ahead and thing that
really what ran us down I think was the sleeping. So I would say s I would say
heat and sleeping. We’re the number one. So we’re currently having to re sleep
train June because when we went we were all in one room and she started sleeping
in our bed like pretty much the whole time she slept in our bed. So now,
so we brought like a, the dock a tot, it’s like the big docket tie for
like toddlers. We brought that, which is what she sleeps at when she
goes to [inaudible] house for nap time. So I was like, oh this will be fine because she can
crawl out of a pack and play and she doesn’t sleep in a crib anymore.
Um, so that was like the option. That’s what we brought and
she didn’t like it. Yeah. So we got very little sleep. It was really hard to put her down and
she would cry and scream every time we tried to put her down cause
she wanted to sleep with us. She wanted us to be in the
bed. Oh, speaking of… She just woke up and we just
put her down and now she’s up. So [inaudible] she used to like we’d
put her down and she’d be done until the morning. Yeah. Wouldn’t hear anything.
But she’s getting out of her room anyway. So it was the sleep, the heat, the
water. It was really stressful. We just wanted to sit down
and say this because I dunno, we just wanted to put a more realistic
spin on her vacation. It wasn’t. I, I like when you get to see like
the behind the scenes, like, yeah, it was an amazing vacation, but it was
like full of amazing, beautiful moments. But also it wasn’t, I don’t know,
we just like to share the reality, like the reality of taking a vacation
when you’re 30 weeks pregnant with a toddler. Right. Cause I would appreciate
that as a parent watching the video, I’d be like, okay, well how was
it really? And it’s like, yeah, it was really hard. It was really
fun, but really hard. Right. But, um, like we had so many memories and
stuff. Yeah. But still hard. Yeah. So hard. Okay. I’m going to go check
on her thumbs up, like, say this video, hit that subscribe button and we’ll see
you guys tomorrow with hopefully more sleep. Yeah. [inaudible].
