Mdina – The Maltese Karozzin

MDINA – MALTA Mdina – Part 1 The Maltese Karozzin Hi everybody! In this short video a cool couple will guide you through the Cilent City. Relax, sit back and enjoy the beautiful Mdina’s
narrow streets and unique architecture. We’ve just left the Main City Gate of Mdina. If you are a Game of Thrones fan, you probably know
that this gate is one of the iconic filming location. It was the entrance where in Season 1, Episode 3 ‘Lord Snow’, Catelyn and Ser Rodrik Cassel rode into King’s Landing Mdina, also known by its titles Città Vecchia or
Città Notabile, is a fortified city in the Northern Malta. It is worth to know that Mdina served as Malta’s capital
from antiquity to the medieval period. Slowly we will arrive to Mdina’s main square:
St Paul’s Square The main attraction is the
Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Paul. You can have an insight in the second part of the Mdina walking series. Leaving the Main Square of Mdina we are heading towards the Mdina Walls… The street which leads you there is full of interesting
places. Let me just name a few of them: St Peter’s Church and Monastery,
St Agatha’s Chapel, Tales Of The Silent City, The Town Hall, Banca Giuratale,
Palazzo Santa Sofia, Church of the Annunciation of Our Lady,
Carmelite Priory, Palazzo Falson, St. Roque’s Chapel (aka Our Lady of Light)
, etc… Let us see the view: From this point you can see almost half of the Maltese Island. The karozzin is a Maltese traditional mode of transport
consisting of a carriage pulled by a horse. It was once popular for general transit and is still used in
ceremonies such as weddings, and as a tourist attraction. Karozzin stands can be found in the places on the
Maltese islands with high tourist footfall figures. The prices are different, depends on the season… …but of course you may do a little bit of
negotiations before you step on the ride. Let’s discover some narrow streets… This is St Peter Street Hello 🙂 (btw… When the carter speeds up the karozzin
I have to run 🙂 ) 9 km/h 10… This is the square where you can leave the town and
visit the garden around it. This is the road junction of Iguanez and St Nicolas Streets… Two beautiful narrow streets… If you would like to see the garden and the streets I’ve
just mentioned, check out my other videos. (God bless the driver… it is only 4km/h) 8 10 km/h … uphill…
Btw turn right and you will find another GoT location. If you like Mdina and Malta, please press the Subscribe button… … and hit the Bell, to get notified of the new Malta Walks videos… Let’s cross the St Paul Square again to arrive to Archbishop’s Square. Here we are at the Archbishop’s Square. The building in front of us is the Archbishop’s Palace.
On the right side is the Mdina Cathedral Museum. St Paul Street… And here we are again at the Mdina Gate
