Hey guys, Canden here with Free Tours by Foot to go over the most popular things to do in Nashville
music to historic homes to cheering at Smashville. We’re going to go over our Top 10 but there
are so many more and we have guides to free things or things to do with kids. You can
find the whole detailed list on our website linked below. Whether this is your first time in Nashville
or you’ve been here many times, we think taking a sightseeing tour is always a great option.
For first timers, we have a self guided audio tour of the history of downtown, including
Honky Tonk Row, Civil Rights in Nashville and Fort Nashborough. Or hop on hop off a trolley tour to see the
sights and rest your feet, especially in the heat of summer. If you’ve been here before, take a speciality
tour! We have guides to help you explore the neighborhood street art and local food stops. Escape from downtown to visit The Hermitage.
This historic mansion was once occupied by the 7th US president, Andrew Jackson. It has
been restored and filled with much of the original furniture and belongings and the
original cabins and gardens surround the house. The most popular thing to do in Nashville
is to visit the Grand Ole Opry. Now there is a different between Ryman Auditorium, the
historic home of the Opry, the current Opry House – both of which are open for tours,
and going to see the show, the Grand Ole Opry. Its a bit confusing, so we made a video all
about it. If you’re really interested in the history
of Country Music, there is the The Country Music Hall of Fame which holds one of the
world’s largest collections of music and associated artifacts. Or visit one of the
smaller museum, like the Johnny Cash museum. Taking in a local sports team is always a
great way to visit a new city – The Predators Hockey team plays just on Broadway, the Tennessee
Titans football team, across the river from downtown. The Nashville Sounds minor league
baseball team has an awesome stadium with a guitar shaped score board! Nashville may be known for country music,
but you can really find all different types. What’s great about Nashvilles love of music
is you can also find different price levels, and different experiences from free, intimate
songwriters nights to big name chart toppers. Finding a place to listen to live music is
easy. Now you’re going to have to eat while you’re
in town so you might as well make it a Nashville staple, like hot chicken or southern biscuits.
If you want to explore the different foods around the city, check out our self guided
Street Arts and Eats tours! There are a lot of free things to do in Nashville,
like the Tennessee State Museum and great parks for kids to run around. Nashville has
something for all ages and all budgets. If you’re trying to get a lot of sites in,
we recommend looking into a tourist discount pass – you can use these to save on admission
costs to the ticketed attractions. Find out more about these on our video here. Want to know more about Nashville? Visit our
